CASE VS. WILSON
A. W. Pipes was awarded 916 In his
suit against Mayor E. M. Wilson, in a
decision handed down In city court
yesterday afternoon by Judge Glenn
O. Taylor. Pipes filed suit November
16 against the mayor for 115 due on
back rent.
Pipes claimed In his complaint that
Wilson had only paid $20 a month
during July, August and September,
when $25 was the regular amount ot
rent to be paid. Mr. Wilson, at that
time, maintained offices In the fourth
floor of the Liberty building.
Wilson told the Judge, according
to the records, that he had served
notice on Pipes that he would only
pay $20 thereafter, or move out.
When the Janitor collected the rent
each month, according to Wilson, he
accepted the $20 given him by Wilson.
Judge Taylor ruled that as long m
no agreement In the matter had been
reached between Pipes and Wilson,
that the $15 was due Pipes for back
rent.
Mayor Wilson now has his office
in the new city hall at the corner of
Fifth and Central streets.
