Tomorrow evening the Medford post of the American Legion will entertain with the annual Christmas ball at Oriental Gardens and many dinner parties will' precede the event. Holiday Setting Adds Interest to Study Club Meet The Wednesday Study olub held regular session on Decmeber 91st In the Women's club rooms on North Central. The desk was gay with can dles and Christmas greenery, arrang ed by the President, Mrs. J. H. Coch ran and the program reflected the Christmas spirit. Reversing the usual order of procedure the first number on the program was "Topics of the Day," given by Mrs. J. O. Orey. These covered a wide range of Important and interesting happenings In this country and In foreign landa. Mrs. O. A. Meeker reviewed three sharply contrasting stories from a very In teresting collection of tales entitled "Christmas In Modern Story." com piled by VsnBuren and Remls. Mr. Bowman, Honor Guest at Farewell Dinner Wednesday TALENT A dinner was given In honor of Supt. O. R. Bowman at the Tiny Tavern In Talent, Dec. 31 by the teachers of the grades and high school In Talent. The affair waa In the form of a farewell and expression of appreciation of the splendid help ard courtesy extended the group by Mr. Bowman during his work with the schools. Much regret has been voiced hy both pupils and parents In looelng Mr. Bowman at this time. His two and a half years as superintendent of the Talent school have constituted one of the best and moat successful periods Talent has ever had. Pythian Children Feted on Friday A beautiful Christmas entertain ment was held Friday evening by Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sis ters for the pleasure of the lodge children. A Christmas tree, rich In tinsel and other novelties, was the center of interest, and hot popcorn and other refreshments added to the Christmas atmosphere of the party. Post-Delphians Plan Programs The study groups of the Post Del phis ns will meet for a most in teresting program Thursday morn ing. December 20th at 9:30. The first group to meet with Mrs. G. R. Satchwell with Mrs. C. C. Furnas as leader. The second group to meet with Mra. W. F. Campbell, with Mrs. I. F. Andres as leader. Members are urged to be prompt as the program planned is long. Pocnhontus Lodge Has Jolly Party A good attendance was present at the Christmas tree of the Pocahontos lodge last week. The program was very good, consisting of solos on the piano, Bnxophone, and violin, as well as recitations by the little tots, and readings by Mattle Luman and Maude Abbott. Santa Claus arrived with a treat for each child and chocolate and cookies were served by the supper commltee. A Leap Year dance will be held Friday, December 30, this being the last chance for such a dance for some time. Dickey's orchestra will play and the surplus funds after faying for the music will go to a special purpose. All Red men, Poca hontas and Vieir friends are Invited. The program as outlined by the coun cil waa on the subject of world mis sions and world peace and after the program Mrs. Tilley and Mrs. Oood man had charge of the Christmas tree. MLss Mary Hamilton and Jean Rice assisted the hostess in serving. Chrysanthemum Circle to Meet Wednesday Chrysanthemum Circ.e No. 84. Neighbors of Woodcraft, will meet in regular session Wednesday of this week instead' of Monday, the latter being a holiday.
