was speaker at this week's meeting
of the Jackson County Clvlo league,
held at the Y. W. O. A., and discussed
"Repeal," responding to the request
of the organization xov Information
concerning the parts of the prohibi
tory law In effect and operative.
Many Interesting phases of the law,
the members learned, are still effec
tive, and officials, Attorney Codding
irtated, will continue to enforce these
provisions until something different
Is devised to supplement them or
strengthen what la left. "The com
ing legislature," it wu pointed out
at the meeting, "will be closely watch
ed for any tendency on the part of
legislators to safeguard the public
against lawlessness and disorders re
sulting from repeal of protective
measurea."
The next regular meeting of the
Clvlo league will be held January
17, at the "T," and a large attend
ance Is urged.
