Mr. Levy will present two orches tras in this recital, pupils In their first year of Instruction and pupils In their second year. A number ut Interesting solos will be offered and well knonw composition, such as "Blue Danube Waltz," "Barcarolle." "Pilgrim's Chorus" and "Silent Night" will be played by the orches tras. No charge will be made for admis lion and the public la cordially In vited. Presbyterian Sunday School Proerom Tonight The Presbyterian Sunday school program will be held this evening at 7 o'clock and Santa Claus Is sched uled to arrive for the occasion. A candy treat and short program will be features of the evening. "The Manger" will be presented by Mrs. W. J. Howell's group, and the pri mary department will give a num ber of songs and recitations. The Junior class will present "Why the Chimes Rang." The intermedi ate department will entertain with a. surprise number, and the program will be followed by observance! of "White Christmas" and each person Is asked to bring something In "Hon perishable food for the needy. St. Mark's Christmas Party Will Be Friday A very Inviting atmosphere 1b promised for Friday evenmg at St. Mark's Guild hall, when the Sunday school of St. Mark's church, Episco pal, will entertain with Christmas tree and entertainment. A program of carols and tableaux-will be pre sented before a background of Christ mas tree and garlands. Parents of the Sunday school pu pils are Invited, and as always at Christmas time, each pupil 1b asked to bring a gift for the Christmas tree to be distributed to the needy during the holidays. B. P. W. Club Party Party Tomorrow. The Business and Professional Women's club will entertain tomor row evening with a party In the women's club rooms In the city hail, beginning at 8 o'clock, and each mem ber is asked to bring a pound or pint of some non-perishable food and a 10-cent toy for Christmas baskets to be distributed through the associated charities. Members are also asked to invite their friends to the party and lovely evening's entertainment Is nromised with the emblem ceremony, with a new pageant, as one of the outstanding features. Misses Busnell and St rone Entertain On Sunday evening Misses Nellie Bushell and Viola Strong were host esses at & Christmas party and bridge. Hitrh scores were held by Misses Mar guerite McAllister and Barbara Mc Ouat. Gifts were distributed from the Christmas tree and refreshments served. Present were Misses Barbara McOuat. Marguerite McAllister, Ellen Lorton, Lois Smythe, Jean Fitzgib- bon, Kathleen Wilson, Nellie Bushell and Viola Strong. SEYLER PASSES, AGED 73 Catholic Church Invites Public to Christmas Mass The Sacred Heart Catholic church at Tenth and On k dale again Invites the people of Medford and the Rogue River valley to high mass Christmas morning at 8 o'clock, at which time there will be a beautiful and master ful rendition of J. Alfred Schehl's mass in honor of St. Lawrence, one of the most difficult masses ew written. The blending harmonies of this great composition, musicians state, require artistry of the highest order. Sebastian Apollo, organist at the church and .well known as director and composer In local circles, skill fully interprets the beauty and Intri cacies of this masterpiece of liturg ical music, and is ably assisted by a splendid choir of mixed voices. Christmas Ball Looms on Calendar Much interest Is being shown throughout southern Oregon tn the annual Christmas ball to be staged by the American Legion next Mon day evening, December G8. The affair will take place In the large ballroom of the Oriental Gardens, where an excellent floor of ample size Is avail able to take care of the hundreds of dancers who plan to attend this annual Legion event. Music of the modern type will be provided by Dom Provost and his popular danoe band. Earl Foy, vice-corn rrtander of tha local Legion post Is In charge of 'the committee and a good time is assured all who attend. Miss Getntiell To " Spend Holidays Here Miss Gloria Getchell, senior at Castllleja school in California, arrived In Medford this morning on the Shasta to spend the holldaya here. A series of lovely entertainments hase been planned for Miss Getchell s pleasure while In the valley. Decree of Honor Will Meet Thursday The Degree of Honor will meet for a Christmas party tomorrow evening 8 o'clock In the Labor hall. A large attendance and a pleasing pro gram are promised. Clara A. Seyler passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Northcraft, In the Berrydale district, early Tuesday morning of pneumonia. She was born at Damascus, Ore.. April 1, 1850, and had been a resi dent of Roseburg, Ore., since 1905, coming to Medford In October. '1931. She leaves three sons and four daughters: G. W. Croucher, Roseburg, Ore.; F. E. Croucher and Henry M. Croucher, Medford; Mrs. J. L. Fisher, Wendling, Ore.; Mrs. W. H. North- craft, Medford; Mrs. 8. A. Lawrence, Roseburg, Ore.; Mrs. J. Buzby, Fair banks, Alaska She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Zllpha Hlnk, who la now 91 years of age, and three sisters: Mrs. Hattle Stlne, Mra. Corrie Dunham and Mra. Annie Penney, all of Los Angeles, Cal. Remains will be forwarded to Dll- lard, Ore., for services and Inter ment. Perl Funeral Home in charge. DYER CALLED BEYOND Fleets Smith Dyer died at tne home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Garrison, wt of Phoenix, Ore., early Wednesday morning of pneumonia. She was born at Independence, Ore November 24, 1858, and had been a resident of Phoenix for five years. She was a member of the Christian church. Mra .Dyer leaves six children, two sons and four daughters: Fred Bar tie, Glendale, Ore.; Ho Dyer, Myrtle Creek, Ore.; Mrs. May Colvln, Port land, Ore.; Mrs. Bertha Garrison, Phoenix, Ore.; Mrs. Jessie Bell, Port land, Ore.; Mrs. Ruth Terry, Port land, Ore.; and 14 grandchildren. The remains will be forwarded by the Perl Funeral Home to Myrtle Creek, Ore., for Interment, and the services will be held at the I. O. O. F. cemtery. Kenneth Madden, 34, Ashland serv ice station attendant and victim of a mysterious assault last Friday night, regained consciousness today but was unable to throw any light on the att after being In a coma three days from a basal fracture of the skull. Madden was found In an Ashland alley about 10 o'clock Friday night. Madden, according to reports from Ashland, told the attending doctor the last thing he remembers is be ing In the station Friday night "and knows absolutely nothing abou the affair.' He has no Idea who hit him, or why, the report states. The deer slid down the steep bank and crashed onto the Ice and through It. In its struggles to get out it became exhausted. It waa found by Hosier and saved. A week ago a deer was found froz en to death in the reservoir. The deer at this time of the year, with springs and creeks frozen in the mountains, come to the reservoir to drink.
