PAGE THREE Cowboys Appear at Craterian; Mystery Picture Tonight Hit The Rogue Rtver Cow Boys who are hoard regularly over radio KMED each Friday evening, gave their first theater performance at the Craterian theater last night they were given a welcome reception by a very com plimentary audience. Besides their usual musical and Vocal selections a very novel atunt was performed by "Lonesome,'' who demonstrated his skill with the lariat by standing on his head and sue cesafully roping one o! the boys who ran across the stage, a very difficult trick to perform. Arrangements are being made for them to appear before other theater audiences on the coast In the near future. They will be heard again to night at 8 o'clock over KMED. Perhaps a little guid ance along the paths of such excur sions will help everyone concerned, even to the extent that the family will rejoice that new delicacies have been added to the ever-remembered pungent flavors of holiday dinners. So. we shall begin with plain stuffing and then vary aa the possibilities may present themselves to our taste. , Plain Stuffing. 4 cupa stale bread cubea 1 teaspoon salt 14 teaspoon pepper ) teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning 1 tablespoon chopped parsley 1 tablespoon minced onion 1 tig (Heart, liver (Heard). Soak bread In oold water, then quetfle dry. Beat dripping., chicken rat or bacon In frying pan (about 2 tablespoons of fat) and add the soak ed bread and the minced onion. When fat li absorbed add the seasonings and the egg. slightly beaten. Wipe Inside of fowl, flour lightly then fill with the stuffing but do not pack It tightly or It will be heavy or soggy. If you wish to Include the heart, liver and glusard, chop fine and par boll before adding to the other In gredients. I1 Oyster Stuffing. Use plain recipe, adding one pint of small oysters which have been carefully looked over for blta of shell. Do not use the fowl heart, liver or gizzard If using oysters. Sausage Stuffing (Turkey) 3 quarts bread cubea 1 cup diced celery 3 tablespoons minced onion . a tablespoons minced parsley 1 lb. fresh sausage 1 egg Salt Pepper. Make patties of aaussge and fry with the minced onion until browned on both sides, then combine with other Ingredients. If breed Is stale, dampen It wtth a little warm water beaten with the egg. Since the sau sage is highly seasoned, no other sea soning need be added. Orange Stuffing for Chicken. a orangea 14 walnuts 4 cooked eprlcota 4 cooked peaches 0 cooked prunes 4 cups softened bread cubea H cup diced celery 1 egg Salt Sugar. Separate orange pulp from mem brane. Drain all fruit well, then add to celery, bread and walnut meat. Beat egg lightly and stir Into mix ture and season lightly with a little salt and sugar. Potato Stuffing (Goose), Add a cups of hot, washed, Irish or sweet potatoes to plain dressing. luvstuuK otuinug liure) 1 quart chestnuta ti cup butter, melted 1 teaspoon salt t egg. slightly beaten )4 teaspoon pepper 1 pint bread cubea 1 pint mashed sweet potatoes 1 teaspoon chopped parsley 1 teaspoon minced onion 1 teaspoon minced celery 1 tablespoon minced onion. Shell and blsnch the chestnuts, then cook In boiling, salted water about 10 minutes. Drain and slice.
