N. 8. triumphed over the Wildcats of Chloo, 14 to 7, last week, and Wolfe's men trimmed the same team earlier In the season, 8-0. BackfleMt Brilliant. With two fine forward walls to carry the heavy work, the game should be filled with brilliant per formanoes by the two backfields. Carrying the brunt of the ball-carry ing duties will be Lanoaster for the Hobson crew and Oretsch for Oregon Normal. Both are triple threaten nd kick over 40 yards repeatedly. Hlnes and McLean do most of the aerial transmitting for Hobson. It was McLean's two perfect passes that were responsible for the win over Ohleo Armistice day. CHICAGO, Nov. 17-(P It looks like a tough, dull winter fo the no torious "drug store" coaches of the Big Ten football world. Armed with dynamite, figures and arguments a month ago for bigger and better coaches at their respec tive campuses, the dissenters have been vlcltlmlzed by a series of come backs by their football targets. To day, with the close of the Big Ten season one game away, virtually every coach In the conference seems as. aured of at least another season of master-minding. Situation Today. Wisconsin: In his first season at Wisconsin. Coach Clarence "Doe' Spears has become the most talked of mentor in the conference. Bring- lng order out of chaos, "Doc" led the Badgers to perhaps their happiest season since the championship year of 1013. Only a one-point defeat by Purdue and a tie at Ohio State are against the 1033 record. Illinois: Coach Bob Zuppke, oir to a bad start, has made a great fin ish, to stretch mini Imaginations for 1033. Ohio 8tate: They're still after Coach Sam Wlllaman, hut he and his team are making another great finish, defeating Northwestern and Pennsylvania after- tying Indiana, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin, and losing to Michigan. The Buckeyes also nave learned that It was no disgrace to be tied by Wisconsin and an honor to hold Pitt. Northwestern: Coach Dick Hanley, despite his worst year, Is looking for ward to next season with the whole Wildcat mass solidly behind him. Iowa: Although Iowa alumni have adapted the "Who cares?" attitude, Coach Ossle Soem has made good with a fine finish. His systsm and optimism have renewed Hawkeye hopes for '33. Minnesota: The defeat by Wiscon sin was a bow to Bernte Blerman In his first year, but he's hsd a good season and can crown it Saturday with the thanks of Purdue by de feating Michigan. ' Michigan: Ooaoh Harry Klpke is sitting pretty with a championship within his grasp. Purdue: Coach Noble Klrer is making them forget hie predecessor, Jlmmle Phelan, with one of the best coached teams In football Indiana: There are rumors of dis sension among the Monday morning oo ashes at Indiana but a victory over Purdue Saturday would make the season a great one for the Hooslers and Coach Hayes. Chicago: Everyone close to Coach He explained that it the wrestlers do not "clesn their own house" or If the state athletic commission does not do it he will propose a law either to ban wrestling entirely, or to pro hibit exhibitions of the type he de scribed. "All that's left now for the wrestlers to do," Donovan said, "is to go at each other with axes. Tea, axes! Place an ax in each wrestler's corner snd give him the right to use It. "Why, in one or the matcnes one wrestlsr wss kicked out of the ring three times. The referee wss almost thrown out of the ring. That kind of thlna has to end. I don't want to maxa a pina i out of wrestling. I want It sports msnllks. This kicking, cuffing and punching ought to be stopped. "I'm told that thla thing Is per mltted because the people went It. simnose the people wanted to see murder should we permit it?" Informed of the senator's state ment, Robert Sindall, head of the athletic commission, said, "the only complaint I had against the bouts Tuesday night was that they . were too tame. The crowd doesn't like them tame. As for me, I like them rough, but fair." STOCKS, ACM At the regular meeting of the Active club at the Holland hotel Tuesday evening, Oeorge Henselman, Medford broker, spoke on "investments, Auu-rthea the kinds and history of bonds, stocks, Investment trusts and the transactions of stocks on New York exchange.
