Grants Pass Wants Post-Season Tilt With Tigers UNCONVINCED BY 7-6 DEFEAT AT Only Mark On Cavemen's Record at Hands of Bur gher Squad Local Ideas Mostly Against Movement Grants Pass football fans. Irked by the 7-fl defeat handed their favorite by the Medford Sigh school football team, nave started a movement for another game with the Burghermels tera. They suggest that It be a post season affair. The matter has not been formally presented to the local school authorities. There la no possibility of a post season game with Grants Pass. In tba first place. It would settle notb ng. If Grants Pass won it, each team would have a yctory; If Med ford won, it would be an empty vie tory, as the Burghermeslters have al ready defeated the Cavemen In a game In which they gained more yardage and, with any luck, would have scored at least one more touch down. Pelicans Also Unconvinced In the second place, If Grants Pass was granted another chance to re deem Itself, the earns courtesy would have to be extended to Klamath Falls, who, despite the 21-to-0 trouncing administered last Saturday, entertain notions they are the better team. In the third place, the Southern Oregon conference schedule, as far as Medford Is concerned, calls for one one game each with Its conference rivals and Its alternating would dis arrange tba balance of the schedule. Also Medford has a heavier schedule and. If any post-season game Is play ad. It will be for something more Important than a rehashing of a Southern Oregon atletlo squabble. . Courier Tells Situation The Grant Pass Courier ha the following to aay on the subject: "Grants Pass football fans ar now turning their attention toward a movement for some post-season games this year In the Southern Ore gon conference. The local grldmen eve come through this year so far with only ons defeat and that a one point loss at the hands of the Med ford Tigers. With a win over Med ford, the locals would have been cer tain of a championship, after the ter rlflo beating they gave Ashland laat Saturday. Because of the loss of a champonahlp may be by ons point, to meet the Cavemen in a game after the season Is closed. If Grants Pass takes Klamath Falls, November 0, the request for a Tiger game wtU probably become a demand. "Grant Pass and Medford only meet onos In the regular oonferenoe schedule, and a good sized gate could be expeoted from the rivals meeting again. The on point lost, would be before the Cavemen every minute of the game, and the Tiger would doubtless want to show that they could take the locals by more than an extra pont missed on a conver sion.
