Acbafer, who operate a shop for repairing electrical motors, ap peared before the council and asked to rent the space in the old city hall formerly occupied by the police and the city Jail, for the aum of 20 per month, with a five-year lease, and all alterations to be made at his own expense. Vp to flcheffel. Curtis1 Darby read the recommenda tion of the committee concerning the rental, which stated the apace was to be rented at 125 per month, with a one-year lease to be granted. The council roted to turn the matter orer to City Superintendent Fred Scheffel, with power to act. The council also voted on offering for sale city bonds amounting to about 933,000, to the Investment firm of Smith. Camp & Riley, Portland. J. O. The body voted to instruct Tire Chief Roy Elliott not to use volun teers at fires outside of Medford, and to inform the volunteer at their next meeting of the action taken by trie council. Recorder Mose Alford read a letter received from the state fire associa tion, recommending that no gas tanks of a capacity over 1000 gallon be allowed inside of the city, and Mayor E- M. Wilson suggested that the mat ter be considered. Mr. Alford was Instructed to seek permission from the county assessor to delay filing of the assessment lists. Rllea, commander of Oregon's Infantry brigade, received word bare today of his election as vice-president of the National Guard association of the United States.
