Stone Released B. F. Stone, who
was held in jail here on a charge of
obtaining goods under false pretenses,
made good the amount of $42 due,
and was released Saturday on his own
recognizance, according to the dis
trict attorney's office.
Sentence Suspended Sentence of
J. R. Hallett was suspended one
month, when he appeared in circuit
court yesterday and pleaded guilty
to a charge of issuing worthless
checks. The amounts were made good
by Hallett, the district attorney's of
fice reported.

Medford Rotarians and their ladles
left yesterday for Klamath Falls to
attend the annual Inter-City meeting
of Southern Oregon Rotary clubs. An
attractive program of entertainment
was arranged for the afternoon and

Case Dismissed J. H. Cochran ap
peared before United States Commis
sioner Victor Tengwald Saturday on
charge of smoking while In the
Rogue River national forest. He was
arrested by Ranger Hugh Rltter. The
case was dismissed, due to the fact
that the season had been extended,
concerning the rules of prevention of
fire, according to Commissioner Teng
wald.
Prisoner Here Emil Rears, 23 an
escape from the reform school at
Lincoln, Nebr., was bound over to
the federal grand Jury on $1000 bond
when he appeared before United
States Commissioner E. W. Madison
of Grants Pass Saturday. Rears was
arrested by Sheriff Ernest Lester of
Josephine county, and State Police
Officer Raleigh Taylor on a check
charge. It was then found the auto
mobile he was driving was stolen,
and that he had escaped from the
Nebraska Institution. Rears was brot
to Medford by Deputy United States
Marshal Cal C. -Wells, and will be
taken to Portland by that officer.
