Billy Elhart returned to hie home
In Ashland Sunday, after spending
two woeks visiting relatives here.
Curtis Miller, who la spending the
summer In Oold Hill, vis I led here

ter, Mrs. Eva Newton.
Mrs. Nina Dusenberry and daugh
ter. Mildred Wright, have been en
gaged several days the past week
doing some papering for Mrs. Ella
Patrick In Oold Hill.
Dr. Bray and wife of Medford were
callers at the Croft home Saturday.
Ralph and Lester Dusenberry at
tended the dance In Oold Hill Sat
urday. John Smith has been having quite
a time fighting the army worms,
which raided his garden, but by
spraying with arsenate of load and
persistent wntchfulness, they have
sbout got rid of them. The" only
other piece reporting any damage
from them waa Mrs. P. L. Walt,
where they tried to devour all her
flowers and house plants, but owing
to her yard being surrounded by
chicken lots, they soon msde short
work of the worms.

dsy afternoon visiting Mrs. Donald
Reams near Grants Pass.

recovering from an operation which

are visiting his grandparenta, Mr.

relatives here. Mr. MoKlnlay has
taught science and mathematics at
the Vincent Hill school In India, for
seven years, and Is now on a year's
furlough. This school Is supported
by the Mlssoorle board of the
Seventh Day Adventlst churches of
the United States.
A dinner was enjoyed at the L. T.
Wilson home Sunday at which 18

McKlnlsy gave an Interesting talk
on the life, customs and Industry
of India. He has several costumes
and relics from India with him.

sentenced to eight years In the peni
tentiary. Hattrem waa tried on an Indictment
In which W. E. Tyler, hie partner In
the firm, of the .Municipal Reserve
snd Bond company, was also Indict
ed. Tyler committed suicide later.
The charge Involved the switching of
securities within the company in an
amount of about 6100,000.
