dinner was held the Fourth at the
Prank Hill-home. The yard and large
veranda was much enjoyed. After
noon dancing, games and music fur
nished entertainment. A large crowd
attended the dance that followed.

gion, Senator Charlea L. McNary ad
vised Governor Julius L. Meier in a
telegram today.
The governor yesterday recom
mended the wage scale to the state
highway commission, which recom
mendation was adopted for state
highway work. ' The McNary state
ment indicates thla wage will apply
to all emergency highway relief work
in the atate.
Senator McNary's wire was In re
sponse to a telegram tranamlttea
to him by the governor, advising hint
of the action of the highway com
