Americanism Mlsa Margaret Kerr,
chairman. Miss Kerr reports that a
brief sketch of the life of Benjamin
Franklin was given at the January
meeting. In February two trees, an
Oregon maple and a silver-leaf maple
were planted at the' Washington
school Arbor Day? In March a radio
program was given commemorating
the bl-centennlal of Washington's
birth. In April a silver placque waa
presented to a Junior high school
boy who won the American Legion
Auxiliary essay contest. In June
the auxiliary, through the news
papers, urged display 'of the flag on
National Flag Day.
Community Service,
Mrs. William Holloway, chairman.
Mrs. Holloway report that a free
health clinic was held and over S00
babies were examined. In Septem
ber the unit gave S6.00 to furnish
mate for crippled children at the
Washington achool. In October a
placque waa given to the high school.
Ten dollars was given to the Girl
Scouts. Gave 10 to the Community
chest, assisted with Armistice Day
program. Gave the library 110 for
books. Assisted In the Muncle drive
for the unemployed. Gave Com
munity service program over the
radio. Gave as.oq for the Pershing
hall In France.

Mrs. Olmscheld reports that In No.
vember an Armistice Day luncheon
was held with 78 present. In Octo
ber the officers' tea waa held at
the home of Mrs. John Pluhrer. In
Jsnuary a Gypsy was held In the
Armory. In March a food sale. In
April the Easter Mardl ball waa held,
lu May a dinner waa served to 175
National Guardsmen. In June the
Fldac program was held.

Mrs. Warren Butler, chairman.
Mrs. Butler reports the music club
met twloe a month for practice and
held radio programs.

have responded satisfactorily.

of these coming from Mrs. Jacobs
own garden. Many sick calls were

was sent to the legislature opposing
the discontinuing of the military
training at Corvallls.

reported the ahelves filled so clothing
has not been sent thl year.
Child welfare Mrs. Ceroid Parker,
chairman. Mrs. Parker reporta that
75 people neve been helped with food
and clothing during the year. Two
children have been treated and fitted
during the aummer months. The
next meeting will be August 4.
