Hamilton at their home near Central Point, while en route north by motor to take the boat from Seattle for a vacation tour of Alaska. Mrs. Anders, Ouest Mrs. Anabelle Anders of Klamath Falls was a week end guest In this city of Miss Wini fred Walker, who has been 111 Or some time at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. George -Walker. Miss Walker Is reported In a much Improved condition and was down town over the week-end for the first time in several weeks. Here from Portland Mr. and Mrs. . E. Schoonover and daughter, Shir ley Mar, arrived here Saturday from Portland, accompanied by Carl Schoonover. Mrs. Rose Eiffert and granddaughter, Joan Rose Buchter. All were guests over the holiday of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Eldredge and Miss Edna Eiffert, and motored to Ash land with them for a picnic yester day. Messrs. Schoonover are return ing to Portland today. Strange, professor in the Southern Oregon Normal school at Ashland, also entertained a group of friends a this cabin at Shady Cove. Greets Ejran on Course Al Hagen o the Mall Tribune Job department and one of Med ford's enthuiastlc golfers, waa among the first to wish H. Chandler Egan success In his championship match In Portland last week-end, Egan reported upon return yesterday from the Rose city. Hagen greeted the champion at the first tee and assured him that the home town was expecting him to be the winner. Hagen la expected home tomorrow with his family, following a short vacation with relatives In Portland. Make Horseback Trip A grand trip with no mishaps was reported today by Mra. Grace Voss, who with three others, Myrtle Gill, Marjorle Llndley and Helen Dugan, made the Journey to Lake o' the Woods by horseback last week-end. The party left Medford Saturday evening, riding to Lake Creek, where they camped for the night, continuing the ride to the resort Sunday afternoon. They arrived at the lake about 2 o'clock and were able to enjoy swimming and all other sports offered. They re turned to the city by motor last night. Catches Big Fish Everett Brayton was a successful Fourth of July fish erman, bringing two large salmon from the upper Rogue In the region of the Rogue Elk resort. Fined $25 Paul K. Jones was fined 129 in Justice court this morning on a charge of reckless driving. He was arrested Monday evening by state police. To Lake o' the Woods Miss Clara Younger was among those who spent the week-end vacationing at Lake o the Woods. To Medford on Business Johnny Snider, manager of the State theater in this city, motored to Medford Sat urday on business. Grants Pass Daily Courier. From Seattle J. W. Beach. 9 Report Accident A report waa made at the city police station of a minor accident Saturday when Tom Robinson's motorcycle waa struck by the car being driven by Mrs. Harold Wood. Failed to Stop M. W. Randall to day had his driver's license suspend ed for three months, and was fined 10 in Justice court for falling to stop at the stop sign on the corner of Sixth and Ivy streets. Randall was driver of the car which struck the Louis Richardson auto Saturday night. m Return from Marlon Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Hull and son Kemper returned to Medford by train today from Ma rlon. Ore., where they spent the week-end visiting Mra. Hull's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeo Kemper. Their small daughter, Jessie Est lie, re mained in Marlon with the Kempera for the summer. Haas' Return East Mr. and Mrs. Howard Haas and daughters, Pauline and Dorothy, who have been guests for the past several weeks of Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Heck man, at their home on Corning Court, plan to leave to day for their home in Fredonla, Pa. While here they enjoyed many trips to neighboring resorts and were en tertained yesterday by Dr. and Mrs B. R. Elliott at their cottage at Shady Cove. FOR DELINQUENT The state police have been In structed to maJce no arrests for non conformity wiVh the tuto license regulations, until on and after July 15 the end of the motor respite. Beginning with that date, according to instructions received from Salem today, all autos will be required to bear 1032-33 plates. While no of ficial word has been forthcoming, It Is held unlikely that any further extension win be granted. Effective now, all foreign licensed cars, whose 60-day permit to operate In this state have expired, are sub ject to arrest. Most of the permits operative In this county, ending July 1, and a close check on them will be made by the state police. A num ber of California licensed autos. whose owner are engaged In a gainful oc cupation In these parts, will be re quired to purchase Oregon licenses or lock up their vehicles. The names of all such have been compiled, and the state police have received orders to tolerate no evasion. Issuance of temporary permits by the sheriff's office this morning show ed a sharp decline, as a result of the Fourth of July holiday. It is ex pected to pick up next week.
