Medford will be Tlilted by in air
caravan of Los Angelea cltleena Sun
day, May 20, according to announce
ment received today by the local
chamber of commerce. The party
will Include members of the citizens'
committee of the Los Angeles cham
ber of commerce. Twenty-five planes,
carrying 60 guests, will land at the
local field at 12:15.
They will be dressed In Olympic
costumes, honoring the games to
be held In Los Angeles this summer,
and will remain In Medford until
3 :00 o'clock, fulfilling luncheon
engagement. Entertainment for the
delegation Is In charge of the avia
tion committee of the local chamber,
beaded by W. H. Fluhrer.
IN DEAD INDIAN
Weather permitting, another search
will be made Sunday of the Dead
Indian district for the bodies of
Edwin O. Brown and wife, home
steaders, who lost their Uvea In a.
bllezard last January. The hunt
will be In charge of Forest Rangers
Preecott and Merrill and Sheriff
Jennings. Last Sunday a systematic
search was made of two sections of
land adjoining the Brown cabin,
without results. Next Sunday the
search will be conducted In the same
manner over new terrain, In the
belief that tha lost pair may have
wandered Into the Salt creek country.
PAIR ARRESTED FOR
SHORT CHANGE TRY
George O. Harmon and Albert Ens-
well er, 38 auto tourists from Cali
fornia, were arrested last night by
state and city police, on the Pacific
highway near Grants Fsas, and are
held In the county jail, for alleged
short-change operations at the Smith
and Watklns Service station here
laat night. The pair Is alleged to
have offered a $10 bill In payment
for gas, and to have attempted to
"flim-flam' the atatlon attendant
out of the gas, change and the 910
bill.

been circulated through the medium
of handbills, thrown into autoa, or
slipped under doorways at night.
Candidates and their workers alike
have warned voters to disregard all
such.
The voting place for the Newtown
precinct Is the First Methodist
church, not the South Methodist
church, serosa the street. The West
Medford voting precinct Is at the
Summit Grocery, located at Summit
avenue and Second street.
The Mall Tribune will announoe
election returns as fast aa they are
available on the returns from the
state and county. Figures from the
precincts with double counting
boards will be released as aoon as
the poll close at 8:00 o'clock In
the evening, and by 9:00 o'clock
from many of the smaller precincts
of the county. A slow count Is
anticipated, as there are three sepa
rate ballots to count Republican,
Democrat and non-partisan Judiciary.
Little interest haa been manifested
locally In the state and congres
sional races. Senator Stelwer and
Congressman Hawley were regarded
as winners. There has been some
Clark and Stanfleld sentiment for
senator, but It la not large.
Wagering on the election an old
American custom waa the lightest
In years. The most popular bet was
that Fehl would not win the Re
publican nomination for county
Judge and that Jennings would win
the Democratic nomination for aherlff.
Distribution of the ballot boxes to
the various precincts was completed
late today. Election officials wlU
open the poll at 8:00 o'clock sharp.
