C. Thompson of Medford, chairman ol the committee tn charge of thta out standing spring event. The advance In date of the dance will enable the committee to perfect the many ar rangements for the event, which is to be held at the Jackson County fairgrounds pavilion, located on the Pacific highway, near Medford. Croft's famous Hlllah Temple dance band will supply the melody for the Hillah ball this spring and Chairman Thompson has promised added features that will make the Shrine dance on May 21 one of the social event of the spring season. The general public has been Invited to participate in "the Shrine ball and dance lovers from scores of southern Oregon and northern California com munities are expected to make the pilgrimage to Medford for the de lightful affair. TWO HURT WHEN AUTOS SMASH UP Two persons suffered slight In juries In a head-on automobile col lision in the Slskiyous yesterday afternoon, according to state police, who gave first aid and checked on the accident. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Sprague, little daughter and two sons of San Fran cisco, en route to Tacoms, were trav eling north and collided with the Plerce-Arrow is which Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Loetfler of San Francisco were Journeying south. The little Sprague girl and Mrs Loeffler received cuts and bruises. Both cars were traveling at high rates of speed, the officer reported. The Sprague automobile was wreck ed beyond repslr and the large car was also badly dsmaged. The sprague family continued north by stage. John Siedermeyer, man ager of the -theater, will use the Magna-Iife screen for portions of the production, bringing the scenes in lifelike size to the Medford audience. The screen is approximately three times the size of the one ordinarily used and will be adopted with par ticularly fine result for the chariot race and the battle of the pirate. The teachers of the Junior high school will be guest hostesses for the Saturday matinees. The Junior high school orchestra will entertain pre ceding the film. The doors will open at 12:30, the music being scheduled for 1 o'clock. - Guild Girl! of Baptist Church to Fete Mother The Guild gjrla of the First Baptist church are Holding a banquet in commemoration of Mother' day, next Thursday evening at 6:30, at the church. AH the girls are urged to bring their mothers and all the moth ers of the church are invited. Following the banquet, beginning at 8 o'clock, the girls are giving program to which the public 1 in vited . It will consist of musical numbers, readings and a play en titled "The Girl Who Pell Through the Earth." There will be no admission charge but an offering will be taken. Junior High Study , Club to Meet Friday The Junior High Parent-Teacher as sociation study club will meet Fri day la room 17 at the Junior high school. The executive committee meeting will open at 1 o'clock, to be followed by the study period. A full attendance is urged by the leaders as important business will be brought before the gathering. The subject for the study period is Sex Education of Children, which will be continued from the last meeting un der the leadership of Mrs- C. B. Trow bridge. Lady Elks Have Pleasant Afternoon Yesterday afternoon was a pleasant one for Lady Elks, who met at the temple for bridge, pool and bowling. The latter pastime is rapidly winning favor with the group and enjoying an increased following. No piiee, how ever, was awarded the winner. Prizes in bridge and pool were awarded Mrs. R. L. Parker and Mrs. Jessie Houck Mrs A. F. Stennett was hostess for the afternoon. Mrs. Baker will be hostess to the group at the next meeting. 4 High School Girls' Lengiie Entertains . PHOEtflX. Girls league of the high school entertained with ft tea, honoring their mother, at the Pres byterian church parlors, Friday. The room was tastefully decorated with tulips. An Interesting and enter taining program was enjoyed. A vio- line solo was played by Alice Hens- ler, with Mrs. Maude woods accom panying her. A vocal duet was given by the Misses Marjorle and Mildred Poling, and a piano solo by Lucille Hust. Conrad-Wolff Wedding Announced for .fune Announcement has been made of the wedding of Miss Dorothy Con rad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Conrad of Central Point, to Edward Wolff of this city, which will be a social event in June. The rooms of the Bromley home were beautifully decorated la purple iris, lilacs, tulip and spire, with candles and other detail in harmon izing shade, for the occasion. The honor guest waa the recipient of many gift and was winner of high prize at bridge. Guests for the evening were Misses Dorothy Rogers, Orbie Katwick, Viola Tempieton and Georgia Edward, and Mesdames Maude Lantis, Helen Mink ier. Vera Strader, Chester Hubbard, Alfred B. Wilsons Celebrate Thirty-First Wedding, JACKSONVILLE Mr. and Mrs. L- T. Wilson of East California street celebrated their thirty-first wedding anniversary Sunday, and also hon ored George Wendt1 birthday. Six teen relative were present, and ft lovely dinner we served i noon. Thursday Club Ha Many Activities PHOENIX. The Thursday club met with Mrs. Ted Furry at Central Point last week for an all-day meeting with covered dish dinner at noon.
