F PAGE TEST IN SIS VALLEY The county court, as soon u the state highway commission approves of estimates submitted, will order work started on the Sams Valley sec ondary road to give employment to residents of the district through which the road passes. It will cost 27,000. This sum Is furnished by the state but the work will be under the direction of the county court. In this way employment Is furnished county residents. Had the work been done by contract, the choice of labor would have rested with the contrac tor. The county court has secured the right of way and arranged all other preliminary details so that an early start can be made, weather conditions permitting. From 30 to to men will be employed and the Job will last once stsrted, for two or three months. County Engineer Paul Rynnlng ssld today that balances of special road levies not collected last year were now coming In better than ex pected and that several special levy road Jobs would be completed the coming summer and would furnish work for a small number of men re siding in the districts. It will be the policy of the county court to give the work to residents of the dis trict where the road Is being built. Completion of projects started last year and Included In the new pro gram are: McLeod bridge road, sear McLeod; the Connelly road, In the Butte Fall district; the Ulrlch road, In the Prospect district, and the Ed mundson road on Rogue river. It Is expected that the (20,000 budgeted for work on the Lake Creek market road and the Dead Indian The Health Honor Roll program, scheduled for Thursday In the city park, has been called off because of the rain, Miss Ruth Swanson, echoo1. nurse, snnounced this afternoon. The cup will be awarded the school having the highest per centage health chores completed and a banner will go to the school with the highest number of boys and girls on the Health Honor Roll.
