Among them was Carol Robinson, pianist. Mr. Shlpman, who edits the "Musical West." leading musical Journal of the Pacific coast, Is interested In boost ing artists of the west and claims that they are as gifted as many bet' ter known musicians of the east. (AP White workers today had won their first fight to drive Filipinos from the berry fields of this Washington county settlement. About half of the 80 Islanders who had been hired by Japanese truck and berry growers to work in the fields, had disap peared.
