VALLEY GETS RAIN
In all up until 11:30 a. m. today,
almost an Inch of rain, lacking but
four hundreatna. has fallen in Med-
lord and throughout the valley since
last Sunday, slight rain continued
after that hour and probable occas
ional rains la the forecast for tonight
and Friday.
Another foot of fresh anow had
fallen at Crater Lake national park
up to early this forenoon. In addition
to the 13 inches which fell there dur
ing Wednesday night, with prospects
of still more falling during the re
mainder of today.
Up to 5 a, m. today from 5 p. m.
yesterday, only .01 of an lnc,n of rain
fell here, but after that hour .29 more
of an Inch had fallen by 11:30 a. m.
This week's abundant rainfall Is
greatly welcomed In agricultural and
fruit growing circles, as being of In
calculable benefit to growing crops.
Many Medford people, who had their
gardens planted before this week's
rainy spell began, are crowing over
their neighbors who had put off
planting until later.
The ground Is becoming thoroughly
saturated wltth rain, and the main
question of interest now, aa shown by
general gossip along that line Is
whether, when the present rain ceases
It will be Immediately followed by
cold weather, or warm weather.
