Wesson Oil For Fine Fruit Cake 1 cup Wesson Oil, 1 cup shaved citron, 1 cups brewn sugar, 3 cups flour, 4 eggs, 2 teaspoons aalt, 1 cups candled cherries, 1 cup chopped candied pineapple. 3 cups nuts, 1 cup fruit juice, 1' teaspoon baking powder, 1 cup raisins, 1 toaepoon ground cloves, 3 teaspoons cinnamon, 3 teaspona allspice, 1 cup chopped flga. Mix the Wesson OH, sugar and egg yolks and beat vigorously for two minutes. Sift together spices, salt, baking powder and two cups o fthe flour and add alternately with the fruit juice to the first mixture. Then add the fruit and nuts which have been mixed with the remaining cup of flour. Fold In the egg whites, beaten stiff and bake In a very slow oven (37S de grees P.) for about four hours. MEET TO TALK CENTRAL POINT Business men and federal forest officials of nine counties of southern Oregon and northern California will hold a two days meeting at Redding. Calif, next Monday and Tuesday, of the Shasta-Cascade Wonderland asso ciation organization service, with headquarters In that city, to discuss ways and means to perfect the or ganization of the association. Hugh B. Rankin, supervisor of Crater National forest will probably be the only Med ford man to attend, as so far the Chamber of Commerce has not jelect ed a representative. It Is contemplated by the organi zers of the association to at this meeting make a survey of the vaca tions! end recreational activities of southern Oregon and northern Cali fornia, In co-operation with the fed eral forest service, and adopt a pro gram of publicity In connection therewith to attract tourists. Such publicity would be of great Importance to Med ford, It is point ed out, as this city is the gateway to such sightseeing and recreational centers as Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, and Lake o' the Woods, and Is one of the gateways to the Oregon Caves. The Oregon counties embraced In the association are Jackson, Klamath, and Lake, and the California counties are Siskiyou, Modoc, Lassen, Tehema, Trinity and Shasta. Nearly 100 Central Point grange members attended Williams Creek Orange, Oct. 17. The ladles drill team of Central Point directed by the captain, Mrs. A. T. Lathrop put on the work.
