COCIETY 13 and Clubs L Lady Lions Have Luncheon and Bridge Mrs. R. C. Mulholland was hostess Wednesday afternoon to members of the Lady Lions club for covered dish luncheon and bridge. There were four tables of cards in play and prizes awarded Mrs. F. G. Bunch and Mrs. H. T. Hubbard. Mrs. Mulholland was assisted by Mesdames Henry Pace and A. D. collier. Humphreys Plan Vacation Trip Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin Humphreys plan to leave next Wednesday for San Francisco, where they will spend 10 days vacationing. DESTROYED BY FIRE; Fire of unknown origin totally de stroyed the two-story frame dwelling of six rooms of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Jones, located In Sams Valley. y miles west of the valley postofflce, about 7 o'clock last evening during their absence from home. The near est neighbor lived one-fourth mile away. There was no Insurance, as Mr. Jones permitted the policy he had carried, to lapse about a year ago. The loss on the house is about $3000, and that on the furniture, clothing. etc., about 91500. The seven children of Mr. and Mrs. Jones announced today that they would Immediately start on the con struction of a new house on the same property for their parents who own the ground, and that tnis wouia be a much smaller dwelling of about three rooms, which could be added onto later from time to time In the future. Mr. and Mrs. Jones were at the home of a distant neighbor where Mr. Jones was milking the cows, at the time the fire broke out, and the first they learned of the fire was when the news was brought them that the house was burned down They spent last night and today at the home of their daughter, Mrs Uriah Coleman, on North Orange street, where they will remain until they get straightened out. All of their clothing was lost ex cept what they were wearing, as, well as a big supply of canned fruit and Jam, and the winter's supply of veg etables. All that was saved from the fire was the garage and their auto mobile. The chicken house also was not destroyed.
