There has been much speculation on the coast as to what use would do made of the Canadian National flag ship following the completion of her summer Alaskan schedule. Mrs. Laldley had color charts by 6B-6A, silhouettes 6A, (lowers, painted by 4B-A, clowns and other figures 6B, soap carving 0A, fish pictures 6A, writing, grades 4-5-6, baskets oth grade and posters by the 6A. Mrs, Re Id had maps from the 6A and 6A. Miss Smith had some very Interesting posters made by the 6th grade. Mrs, Murray's SB sent color charts, free hand drawing In crayon, free hand paper cutting and an Illustrated story which, which were very attractive, Miss Stewart's 3A's had houseboats, a Japanese Illustrated story, water color paintings of animals, color charts, paper cutting and a Pilgrim scene. Mrs. Henderson displayed water color pictures, free hand draw ings, an Illustrated story. They all were very pretty. Miss Nevlson sent an Illustrated story, free-hand paint ing, block designs and color charts. This year the Jackson school has their things in a different place. It will be fun to see our things at the fair. Spelling We had some tests last week from Mr. Hedrlck's office. The teachers gave us one hundred words. Those missing only five or below do not have to take spelling the rest of the term. Ruth Herrln, 88, and Winston Campbell, 6B, were the only two ex empt. This week the' highest average was 96.9 percent, which were the 6B. A surprise Monday morning the teachers had a surprlne. Mrs. Taylor had set a plate of grapes on all the teachers' desks. There were five kinds of grapes. The grapes came from the Taylor's vine yard In California. Banking Our banking percentage Is not as nigh as usual for we have many new children here this year. We hope very munh that each one will start an account. Mrs. Raid's SB's have the highest percentage. Our school average was 61.3 percent. f . School was dismissed Friday after noon that everyone might go to the fair grounds to see the school ex hibits. Next week we shall know more about the prizes that were awarded. Garden Club We are very proud of Corrtne Kar- wood, Milton Benford, and Jeanette Thatuher, members of the Garden club who have carried their projects to completion.
