M. Dodge and children of Medford and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Cook of Gold Hill visited Sunday at the Wilson ranch. Friends of Miss Ruth Arbuckle will be sorry to know she is unable to take her position as English teacher this year, due to her mother's serious Illness. Several residents of thla district are employed In the pear harvest In the Table Rock district. Russell Wilson, accompanied Glenn Garrett on a trip to Portland and eastern Oregon towns for a two weeks' vacation. Grandpa Hoist Is preparing for his annual birthday party, for which he expects an attendance of 150 friends at his home next Sun day. ' Many cars stop daily for water melons at the Garrett place, where Ellis Garrett has a large supply of this delicious product. Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Huntress of Portland, Miss Doris Richardson of Beall Lane, Miss Eva Nealon of Medford and Moore Hamilton of Central Point, were among this week's visitors with Sams Valley relatives. !! J., are visitors for a short time at Crater Lake. They have had several stories published In eastern magazines and are gath ering a wealth of material frr fu ture literary efforts. The girls hitch-hiked to the Pa- clflo coast, leaving New Jersey three weeks ago and visiting Blon, l'-ryco Canyon, Grand Canyon and Yo semlto parks on the way.
