PAGE THREE I HER PARTY Bog poisoners are working In Med ford again, using welners this time to deliver strychnine to the animals. A little fox terrier belonging to Mm. J. E. White at 720 Cedar street, was killed last night In this manner Ople Stafford, humane officer, announced this morning, and two loaded welners were found on a porch at 804 Cedar street. ' Anotner weiner. which had been split open and filled with strychnine In the same way. 'was found on the runnlngboard of the White car.' ', The Whites had two dogs, one sleeping inside and the other outside the houses The latter got the poison ed welnerj and died before morning. The meat was found in her stomach when examinations were made by the humane officer. In the family residing at 804 Cedar street there ere several small chil dren. The baby Is at the age when children frequently place any foo.1 they find In their mouths, and would probably have picked up the two r.elners if the mother had not found them before letting the baby out on the porch. . While the humane officer was making his examlnaltons this morn ing, he .reports that 14 small chil dren congregated on the street. The dangers to human life Inflicted by the poisoner have added much zest to the campatgn for apprehension of the effender. The usual rewards oi fcred for apprehension of anyone poisoning dogs and additional sums will be awarded the person who finds the DOlsoner. Stafford stated today He Is making a check on the sale of strychnine through the local drug stores. No known antagonism for dogs has existed among residents of Cedar street, investigation tins morn ing showed. Special on phonograph records at Palmer's.
