control today at forestry offices

The most recent fire In that area
at MUe Hill was checked at mid
night last night. The fire covered
about- 200 a ores. Repdrto of the
blaze were received here yesterday
afternoon. Fifty men were rushed
to the scene and had the fire sur
rounded after several hours work.
Most of the crew was returned to the
city today. Men are still patrolling
the area. . '
Word came from Forest creek today
iftat the water supply was nearly
exhausted In that area and that It
was necessary to haul it Into the
country to extinguish fires there.
1 The Humbug lire was checked in
the Forest creek hills when It spread
toward Jacksonville.
The Humbug fire is being .carefully
guarded to prevent any new out
breaks or - spreading. Damage has
been small there since the flames
diminished Monday.
Forest officials were in the area
todays making an accurate c,heck
upon . property damage on - ranches
which wore either wholly or partially
burned. The fire covered more than
