Hoc iamentntlona: Chap. 3, Verso 40: THE CITY COUNCIL k made up of representatives of differ fcrent political faitlm and of different Ijiisincss theories. In tlie lust election some of them supported Mayor Wilson, and some of them didn't. Iiut on the matter of sewage disposal, and the necessity of t ho passage of the sewage bonds, the council from the first has been a unit. Whyf Uesausc some undue pressure was brought to bear upon them, because these men are any less devoted to what is best for the welfare and prosperity of the city, than those who are opposing this bond issue? Certainly no one can believe that. The members of tho council are too well known, men like Clarence Meeker, George Porter, D. It, Tcrrctt, l'etc Kershaw, Jiill Allen, Charles Furnas, C. C. Darby and J, 0. Grey for anyone to doubt, cither their integrity or their courage; or to believe that they are unani mous in this action, for any other reason than being in pos session of all the facts, they KNOW that for the protection of tlio health of this community, this action must be taken. '.(' ; 'THE members of the Lions club endorsed these sewage bonds. AVhyf Because the members of this organization were un duly influenced, because they wish to impair tho credit of the city in which they live, because they are any less interested in what is best for their city, than those who now condemn their action! : WHO CAN HEMKVE TIIATf They endorsed these bonds, simply because, when all tho facts wcro presented to them, they became convinced that there was nothing elso to be done, that for the best interests of Medford, these bonds had to be voted, and tho Lions club pledged tho organization to work toward that end. ' I C'MILAR action has been taken by tho Kiwanis club, also by tho Chamber of Commerce. Why! Because the officers and members of these two organizations were deceived, coerced, misinformed, subjected to anything but a full and free presen tation and discussion of all the facts f x CERTAINLY NOT. These endorsements were mado, and scores of members, originally opponents of the 'bonds, became uncompromising supporters, simply because, GIVEN ALL THE PACTS, they realized that tho future development and wclfure. of their city demanded it. ' . AS WITH these representative organizations, so with the people of Mk-'dford at large; all that has been needed, all that is needed now, is for tho voters to KNOW THE FACTS, know the situation, not as certain interests try to make it ap pcar.'but as it really is. " Now tho campaign ends. Wo are confident that every man and woman in Medford, in possession of nil the facts, will voto for these bonds, because, like mombers of the icity council, the members of tho Lions, Kiwanis and Chamber' of Commerce, thev have become convinced by theso facts that as it is to,tho best interests of tho city, so IT IS TO THEIR HEST INTEREST, that this action should be taken lit this time. , tax obligation to a total of $512,500, wichj as Tvltf -jiointM out, would still leave a credit balance available, to tlie city of .$326, 000, over the 10 per cent charter limitatiyji! . ., We did not suppose anyone would misunderstand our con tention. The city debt is a large one. ISut it is all self sustain ing, being paid for and retired outside of taxation, EXCEPT THIS $277,500. And it is this amount only that 'would be in creased by the passage of these bonds. ' Personal Health Service By William Brady, M. D. Ho gave me a m eta ho Hum test, the result being metabolism plus 60. He then advised lm media to removul by operation, because my pulse seldom varied from 120 to 140 and I am extremely nervous. Our family physician does hot advise immediate operation. He believes that by intensive treat ment I may bo able to get rid of It, but he would not be posi tive. I might doctor it two years and then In the end have to undergo the operation anyway. I am writing to ask whether treatment brings lasting results or would the goitre only disap pear to roappear as, soon. as I ceased treating? I havo a cn untie (probably the correspondent meant to say "toxic") goitre, and several peo ple have remarked tat my eyes look staring. Is there any other way to re move goiter?
