A one-cent advance per pound for young toms, young hens, old toniH and old hen, and a two-cent advance for No. 2 grades makes the opening prices uh follows: No. 1 young toms, 12 pounds and up, 28c per pound. Old toms, 22c per pound. No. 1 hens 26c per pound. All No. 2 grndrs 20c per pound. The pool will be shipped next Saturday, and will be made on consignment to the New York I markets, giving the growers a chance to profit if the present market conditions Improve, which in held probable. ' No sales report on the Thanks giving pool has been received as ynt, but is now duo any day. It is expected that the Christmas turkey shipments will about clean up the valley crop for the year as the growers are responding heart ily to the pool. T A turkey shoot at the Vivian Reach place on the Old Stage road near Jacksonville will attract quite a number of Med lord (mooters next Sunday to participate in rifle and trap competition. The shoot, Riven under the auspices of the Jackson ville American legion club, will be gin at ft n'clock.in the morning and lunch will he served at noon. : All rifles will he classified and shooters will take part according to their respective ability. He was also to indicate any pref erences on the list. -4 STROKE IN STREET Patrick Kelly, aged Spanish war veteran who truvels from place to place wart taken to the Sacred Heart hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from epilepsy. Mr. Kelly was walking down South Hiverslde avenue about 4 :30 when he sud denly fell to the ground. . Kred Stentiett who ran to his assistance, found a note pinned to the man's coat, saying in case he was found unconscious to call a physician and give him the letter in his coat pocket. The letter con tained instructions for his care. A doctor was Immediately called and Mr. Kelly was taken to the t hospital. He suffered two more attacks last evening,, according lo Dr. L. D.
