The reserve- dseats for the high
school play are now obtainable at
the Holly theatre box olfice. The
play to he presented Is "The Goose
Hangs High." It will he presented
just one night only, Tuesday, Ip
cember 2. and everyone is urged
to go their seats as soon as possible.

soon have a good passable road
from north Douglas points to Cra
ter lake. Diamond take and eastern
Oregon points with a saving of 50
miles in distance There is another
possibility in tho completion of tho
project and that is a reconstruc
tion of the Pacific highway over
the Tiller-Trail route. Two things
would be gained If such n thing
should ever be done: A few miles
would be saved and there would
be but one summit to go ever,
whereas we now cross three sum
mits between Huseburg and Med-
ford.
It is extremely doubtful If this
latter conception, that of making
the Tiller-Trail section a Pacific
highway cutoff, will ever bo se
riously considered. In the first
place tho present Pacific highway
is fairly good. It Is paved anil
serves us well. There is no real
need for building another expens
ive section of highway as a substi
tute for the route we already have.

of highway building, which Is that
highways should be connecting

completion of the Tiller-Trail road
we will be some CO or 60 miles
nearer the Klamath country and
to Diamond and Crater lakos.

tween Tiller and Trail Is ungraded
Even as It Is, it is quite easily
passable In dry weather and the
ungraded portion offers definitely
easier opportunity for construction
than the already completed por
tion along the creek. When tho
new grade Is completed tho road
from Tilb-r to Trail will be a most
Interesting drive.
The new road surmounts but
one hill. Tho grade is approxi
mately six miles up to tho summit
of the ridge and six miles down on
the Jackson county side. The sum
