DAMAGE CEILING
AT FOX RiALTO
Leonard Chris(ean and Lowell
La liter, local young boys, wanted
to nee a free show at the Hialto
theatre last night and attempted
to make their way into the audi
torium. Their efforts resulted In
knocking plaster from the ceiling
of the show house and causing j
some disturbance for the audience. I
The boys appeared at the police 1
station this morning and were to 1
appear there again this afternoon. j
It is probable no -legal steps will
be taken against them, but they j
must repair the damage they I
caused.
The pair crawled through a trap i
door on top of the theatre. leading i
to a space between the ceiling and I
room. Shortly after they crawled
through, one of tho boys hit tho
ceiling loo hard and his legs
emerged In the showhouse and he
would have fallen to the floor ex- j
cept for an electric conduit.
While a few women screamed :
and most of the audience arose
from the seats, there was no panic.
A few left the theatre when they
heard the noise above them.
Tho city building inspector. I
II. Rogers, inspected the theatre
building this forenoon - anil de
clared it to be in first class shape
and that It was no fault of the
building that the plaster fell.
