ACKS0NV1LLE o fl m nsa t 7 a r n ra n EASTERN STAR 50 YEARS OLD Celebration Tonight Attracts State Leaders Picnic ' Dinner On Old Court House Lawn. Col. Robert A. Miller of Portland, oldeBt living Brand patron of East ern Star, ill be among honored guests attending the celebration to be held in the hstoric little town tonight in commemoration of the founding of Adnrel Chapter No. 3, O. B. S., 50 years ago. Although he will participate in the golden anniversary program, Mr. Miller is not a charter member of Adarel chapter. Mrs. Rachel Fischer, who was the last charter member of the .lack sonville lodge, died in the spring. There will be several members at tending the celebration who have been in the lodge almost 50 years. Miss Stella Levy is one of thein. Past and present grand officers are expected in Jacksonville to day from all sections of the state. Frank Mangold, worthy grand pa trol of Oregon, and Mrs. Mangold are hero from Portland. Mr. and Mrs. A. 11. Medley of Portland, who are members of Adarel chapter, are also in southern Oregon to cele brate tlie chapter's fiftieth birth day anniversary. Plan Program The program will he hold at the old county court house grounds and will be preceded by a picnic din ner under the trees. The evening will be completed with dancing. Mrs. Violet Wilson is chairman of the committee handing the pro gram and lias working with her Mrs. Florine Severance and Mrs. Nolle W. Ficko. Mrs. Anna Ijing ley is chairman of the decorating committee. Members of Roames Chapter No. (it) of Metlford, and of Ashland, Cen tral Point and Kaglo Point chapters will join the Jacksonville group in the festivities tonight. There will bo past and present officers from Grants Pass and Klamath Falls chapters in attendance. All Hast en! Star groups are anticipating t lie affair as the leading event in south ern Oregon lodge history and a large crowd is expected lo till tho court house grounds tonight.
