Work of the classification and attendance commiltees was review ed hy Ur. E. Shoekley. A sur vey of the classification commit tee, he stated, shows thut there are still 80 unfilled classifications in Medford. The membership with a total of 51 is the mime as it was this time last year, intituling the 15 changes made. A prosperous financial coudition was leported by the treasurer, A. Oriit Schenck. George Kunzman, who whs called upon to outline the work of the Roy Scout committee, stated that there are 1G boys in the tender-foot clnss, five in sec ond class, and two in first class. A jovial mixture of "horset'ealli ers" nnd "buck passing" was re viewed hy Dr. IX A. Chambers, sec retary, as a report of his work. When anything .new comes up, he explained, the secretary is instruct ed to do so and so. It's nlwiiys, the secretary who expresses the regrets, joys, sorrows and approv als of the club. Seriously speak ing, ho added, "I do not think il is organization, 1 hut friendship which holds the club together." The importance of local problems he contrasted with the importance of international problems, showing that tlmre is always plenty to he done at home. ; i Frank Newman, retiring "presi dent, thanked nit committeemen and other persons who have par ticipated in activities of the elul for the work that they have done, emphasizing the necessity for n president to stand in the hack- ground nnd watch other folUs work. "One man clubs," he ex plained, "are always a failure." Dr. Chamber was appointed ns representative of the Kotarians on the judging committee for the Miss Medford contest, being sponsored by the Mens club at today's lunch eon. Hum Gregg was named on the committee lor entertainment of guests in Medford during the advertising convention to be held here in September. The club voted $50 townrd de fraying the expenses of Ihe county health , department in financing the tubercular clinic, recently held here. A teleginm of greetings received from F,. C. Corn, delegate to the Rotary International convention in Chicago was read. An attendance of twenty thousand delegates and a successful convention were re ported by Mr. Coin. : CAUSE OF REGRET A bright-eyed young woman who thought (hat the police would not see her car or else did not know it was not proper lo park In alleys, appeared at the police station, ner vous and perhaps a hit frightened this forenoon.
