Helva Aiken of this city at tended the banquet and district meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary held at Hotel Umpo.ua. Roseburg, last night. They will re turn to Medfurd by motor today. Mrs. William lee Bricker of Med ford also attended the meet ing and escorted the national presi dent from Portland to Roseburg, -giving left Aledford for the north the early part of the week. Local Club to Enter Exhibit in Portland Tho recent flower show staged by the Medfurd Garden club prov ed such a succpsh that the clu b ha responded to an invitation to participate in the Rose Show nt Portland June 12th to JGth, inclus ive. Mips Cieraldine Oardner, who is graduating June 16th from the University of Ore gon, will repeat her senior piano recital, given in Eugene, for her friends in Medford June 19th at St. Mark's hall. Miss CJarriner, who Is the daugh ter of Mrs. George Gardner, at tended high school in Jacksonville and Medford. Since entering the university she has won numerous honors in the school of music and participated In the major programs sponsored by the school. Holding first place on the past week's social calendar with the, majority of Medford people was the flower show, sponsored by the Medford Garden club Tuesday and Wednesday In the former Browne's hardware store at the corner of Main and Grape streets, offered the club for the occasion by Ml. A. W. Pipes. The building was transformed Into a garden of flowers and shrubs with displays superior to any previously entered In local flower shows crowding the tables. Roses, delphiniums, iris, poppies, punsies, sweetpens and hosts of other blossoms filled the rooms with fragrance and color. Hanging baskets used were furnished by the Medford Greenhouse.
