Newbry,' Mrs. Homer Barron entertained a number of friends at her home last week at luncheon. Mr, and Mrs. Helma and chil dren, Mr, and Mrs. George Yokel and family, also Mrs. Yoyel's two .. Bisters and mother from Montana visited the Oregon Caves Sunday. Mr. and Mrs, Jesse Nell and daughter Jo Ann, made a busi ness trip to Medford Wednesday. Mrs. J, Gelling gave a dinner Sunday in honor of the birthdays of Miss Dorothy Marquis and Mr. j Ciettling. Plates were set for Mr. and Mrs. ISrnest Williams of Tal ent, Glenn Bond of Klamath Junc tion, Donald and Thomas Getting and the honored guests, Miss Dor othy Marquis and and 3. Celling, and the, hostess, Mrs. Gelling, Miss Helen Sheidereiter went to Medford Monday to fill a posi tion as office girl for one of. the leading dentists there, Mrs, C. B. Lambkin entertained the Friendly class of the Presby terian church Monday. Plans were discussed -for & bazaar which ths class will give some time in De cember. The guests enjoyed a social houi of needlework and con , versation. Refreshments were served by the Hostess, assisted by M rs, J. A, M cLeanse, Miss Maud Forhan was a din ner guest at the Mark True home Monday-evening, Mr, and Mrs. 13, Koble have pur chased the Carl Goettch place and have moved in. They also have charge at an orchard adjoining the Wm. Briggs ranch, , Mr,, and Mrs. KHnger and three Sons arrived here from Oklahoma the first of the week for a visit with Mr, Klingor's parents. They went to Medford Wednesday to spend the day with a sister, Miss Leah KHnger. They expect to be here two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Hood aro visiting relatives and friends In Portland and Washington, Mrs. Kdwin Dunn attended a bridge party at the Howard Bar rett homo In Ashland last week. ' The high school graduating class of 1930, consisting of fortv fivo niembers were guests at tho alumni reception Friday, evening iu uiq ciuo nouse, mere were about 125 alumni present. The welcome address was given by Mrs. D. Peroral with a response hy Dick Hitchcock, president of the class. Mrs. Fred Homes and Mrs, Mary Tucker entertained forty ladies from Bellvlew and Ashland with "- a one o'clock luncheon Wednes day !ri honor of Miss Maud For han at the home of Mrs. Fred Homes. Mrs. Bell sang and Mrs. Mrs Kdwin punn sang a solo ac companied by Mrs, Richie on the piano. Mrs, Homer Moore won . first prize and Mrs, Longstreth consolation. The guest of honor. Miss Maud Forhan, whs presented with a beautiful etching by tho Albfe Beck, who has been leach- the past two years is home to spend the summer vacation with ' his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Beck, Miss Ruth Newbry and Harry Lester were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. SSarba on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Hayes vt& Hed with the former's parents, Mi, find Mrs. Jas, Hayes, Sunday, Clarence Byrd and Nellie Bow en of Talent, were married in Med ford Sunday. Mr. and Mrs, Byrd will make their home on the Kd win Dunn ranch on the highway. Miss Lola Taibert, who has been teaching In the Relieview school for tho past year, expects to make a trip to Los Angeles to visit rel atives and friends. About twenty young people, members of the Lutheran church, gathered, at the home of Helen and Louise Sheldeaeiter on Fri riny evening. Games were played, ufter which delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Mss Klsie Taibert returned to her home at Myrtle Creek last Sat urday. George Yokel is quite ill with pneumonia. His wife is suffering from a severe cold also. Upper Valley Community club will hold the last meeting of the seitson at 2:00 p. m. next Wednes day. After the business meeting refreshments will be served by the hostesses, Mrs. Bertha McKinney and Miss Lola Taibert.
