ican Legion's second outboard
motorhoat regatta on Immigrant
lake. Sunday, May 25th. Three
noted Hpeed pilots today notified
the regatta committee that they
expect to bring their craft here for
the big meet ami two others tenta
tively have accepted invitations.

who have broken nearly every
class 11 record for outboard craft,
and Kergy Ferguson, holder of the
fastest record ever made by an
outboard shell, are expected to ar
rive In a few days from Newport
I leach, Calif., with Crandnl Comet
boats.
I-Yrguson, crowned champion at
the national meet held in J'eoriu,
III., established the existing record
of 4!t.47 miles per hour in an out
hoard powered boat.

Thompson, who had his famous
boat,- "Flying Cloud," on the lake
last Sunday, expects to remain
here and enter in class B. Thomp
son piloted the "Flying Cloud" to
a new world's record New Year's
day at Lake Merritt and nil but
equalled his mark again last Sun
day at the lake, making a lap a
few seconds slower than his best
previous time.
Henry "Heinle" Fluhrer, the
"Flying Dutchman.' whose boat,
"Black Friday," captured the class
C, D, and free-for-all events at the
first regatta, will compete against
the California pilots and hopes to
brea k t h e reco rd set by Thomp
son's craft.
Flnhrer's boat is powered by a
Heuhor.se "1M" engine and has been
ilocked at 43 miles per hour. Judg
ing from the list of entries In the

engine, the fastest motor available.
Sid Smith has also announced his
new Klsinor boat will be equipped
with the same type of engine.

product of the Johnson Outboard
Motor company and were shipped
direct from the factory by express
In order to insure their being here
for the races. Outside of one or
two In the state of Washington
they are the only ones shipped to
the Pacific coast.
Three entries are expected from

Flerstein again will bring their
outfits down from Albany for the
races. H urley and Fierstein have
worked their outfits over and have
announced men intention or heat
