(A') in one of the greatest upsets of Northwest track history, in which the, worlds Intercollegiate mile run record wan shuttered, the Univer sity of Oregon defeated the strong University uf Washington team liure today, 0!i 1-y to (il ''A. Kisser, twice conqueror of Hill lu previous meets, took the lead at the start and maintained It un til the last Hill yards, when Hill with a great spurt pasted the Husky miler and finished nearly six yards in the lead. It was one of the most sensational races ever seen here, and followed on lho heels of a first upset, when Ty rol! J,owrey, of Oregon, edged out "Washington's s p e o d merchant, iilcjlHoc, in the 100-yard dash, Ijowrey's time was 10.2. The first two races served to spur on the Ducks. They imme diately proceeded to take a first in tho quarter mile run, another first and second In tho 200-yard dash; a first and second in tho half mile, and a. first In the two mile, all events in which Wash ington was a heavy favorite be fore tho meet.
