The El Cortez Hotel GEARY NEAR TAYLOR STRRET SAN FRANCISCO MOtTTMEl A. SAMUEL, Cm SUHT5TO the Jackson County Goiiirt I burt H h Its ouse Site Selection "Hlinll the Court, House for Jackson County, Orcyon, he constructed on tlie following described property: Block Number One (1) of Galloway's addition to the city of Medt'ord, Jackson county, Orogou, sometimes known as tho Washington School Site.". , . , . , , , 302 Yes I vote for the Washington School Site The Washington School Block was is by BEST AVAILABLE SITE as 1 It is eisily accessible from all directions. - 2 The block is sufficiently large for present and future needs. 3 There is an abundance of majestic trees already on the site, and on the library grounds and city park adjoining, making the landscaping easier. 4 The site is in the heart of the most beautiful uptown section to be found in any' city in Oregon.' 5 There is an abundance of parking space around the block. 6 The site is sufficiently far away from the railroad that court and other county of- ficers will never be interfered with because of noise. 7 Surrounded by residences, parks, city library, public buildings and churches-there will never be any danger from smoke or industrial center activities. 8 The site is not in the restricted parking district; BUT IS TWO BLOCKS BE YOND ANY PARKING RESTRICTIONS. : 9 Medford school board favors the sale of this site to the city of Medford at a rea sonable price, which approves its purchase, for the court house site. The selection of a Court House site was left to the County Court, which, after, many months of careful study and in vestigation, selected the Washington School site. Support the County Court with your vote for the Washington School site 302 Yes' I vote for the Washington School Site First, however, you must approve the expenditure of $260,000 by the Jackson County Court for this new Jack .son County Court House. Jackson county now lias .t-(0,000 set aside for the purpose of constructing this new court house in Medford. The construction of the court house will not cost you one penny in taxes, if the court house is built while this fund is available. If construction were to be postponed, and the $260,000 used for other purposes, taxes would have to be levied and the construction would have to be paid for out of your pocket. Medford is bound fo furnish the present building free of rent for the use of the county govern ment offices FOR ONLY FIVE YEARS which will expire in Julv, 19:i2. Thereafter, the county would be justly obligated to pay rent to the city of Medford 'on tlie building and since The county is nqw getting only '2 per cent interest on this $200,000 fund, the charge for rental after the expiration of the five years would he more than the interest derived from the 2(i0,000. . . , . . . If the expenditure of this fund were not approved at the May 16th election, the county court niiuht feel obligated to use this fund for oilier purposes, instead of allowing to remain idle, which would make it necessary to levy taxes on all property for a SPI0C1AL FUND to con struct a new court house and to pay rent to the city of Meilford during the interim after July, 1!):!2. o Thus, Save Yourself from Paying More Taxes o : .v by Voting (Paid Advertising) 300 Yes I vote for the construction of a new Court House Court House Fund and Rite Committee.
