representative for the Pacific
coast, with headquarters In Los
Angeles, landed at Medford's air
port this forenoon 9t his Sparton
biplano C-3 in order to complete
arrangement for establishing a
Texaco station on tho local field.
Flying his Sparton plane with
Its Wright J O motor, Cooper made
the run from Tulsa, Okla., to Los,
Angeles, La!., on this trip In one
day covering a distance of approxi
mately 1400 miles.
This is young Cooper's second
visit to Medford, the first- being
when he landed here In November
with the Great Lakes speed wing
Job, which is well known for its
stunting and speeding ability.
Mr. Cooper has a record of more
than 4200 Lours of soio nrght ser
vice, much of which was with the
U. S. navy during the world war.
"Medford'B airiort Is a credit not
only to Medford but the entire
state and the Pacific coast," Pilot
Cooper stated today. When the
Texaco station Is erected at the

Display of naval power on
water and 0i air continues in New
York.
The most Interesting display
came when somo senators saw
132 planes rise from tho decks
of three ahips 15 seconds apart
and when they saw the Bame
planes, after flying out to make
theoretical attacks, return to land
safoly on the ships, thirty seconds
apart, without a mishap.
What would such a carrier ship
with Its cargo of bomb-poison
gas and machine gun carrying
planes do to a fleet of surface
ships?
it would do to it exactly what
132 hawks would do to u, group
of field mice.
Sho lives apart and few will
know when her career ends.
But Cancalaise. Jersey cow, of
Mt. Kisco, New York, is a cham
pion female, worthy of honor.
Last year sho produced 1,072.7
pounds of butter fat, and 18,822
pounds of nillk.
Such cows could help to solve
the farm problem. They are, in
their way, as remarkable as ma
chinery in mass production fac
tories. Bookkeeping is taking its place
as an important industry In Louisiana.
