Larry Cooper, Texaco's aviation
representative for the Pacific
coast, with headquarters In Los
Angeles, landed at Medford's air
port this forenoon 9t his Sparton
biplano C-3 in order to complete
arrangement for establishing a
Texaco station on tho local field.
Flying his Sparton plane with
Its Wright J O motor, Cooper made
the run from Tulsa, Okla., to Los,
Angeles, La!., on this trip In one
day covering a distance of approxi
mately 1400 miles.
This is young Cooper's second
visit to Medford, the first- being
when he landed here In November
with the Great Lakes speed wing
Job, which is well known for its
stunting and speeding ability.
Mr. Cooper has a record of more
than 4200 Lours of soio nrght ser
vice, much of which was with the
U. S. navy during the world war.
"Medford'B airiort Is a credit not
only to Medford but the entire
state and the Pacific coast," Pilot
Cooper stated today. When the
Texaco station Is erected at the
local field it will complete a. chain
of stations throughout the United
States at interval distances ot 200
miles.
Mr. Cooper was met at the field
this morning by Ed Valller, man
ager of the Texaco company In
this territory. The visiting aviator
will leave here Saturday morning
for Portland, Seattle and other
