Gains of 3 to 6 points In tho more popular 'trading shares wero cancelled during the artor- noon and many closed with losses of I to 6 points. General Electric sold up 4 points and slipped buck 7 from the top American Telephone and Joline Munvllle last early gains of about 4 and 6 points nnd closed with small net declines. Pressure against mull order shares was pro nounced, Montgomery Ward and Scnrs-ltocbuck losing nearly 2 and 4 points respectively. Total sales approximated 3.400,000 shares.
