Ham nionil, manager for the company here. Under the new schedule charges fur connection of service will bo entirely eliminated in one case and reduced from II to over 50 per cent in other cases. Monthly rates for extension telephones will also he cut from 20 to Ul! 1-3 per cent. The changes wero summarized today by Mr. llanimoiul, who stat ed that thv are in keeping' with tho fundamental policy of the com pany, which Is to provide the best possible telephone service at a coBt as low as is consistent with finan cial safety. The $1.50 charge- for connecting service, commonly known as tho change of name charge, will bo eliminated. Other reductions for connecting services are as follows: Tho service connection charge for business and residence exten sion charge will bo $1.50. The for mer rate was $2. Tho servico connection charge for private branch exchange tele pones will be $1.50. The former rule was $3.50. Tho service con nection chargo Tor residenco telo phoncH will ho $3. Tho former rate was $3.50. Reductions' in monthly rental rates for extension telephones ap ply to wall and desk suts and are -us follows: - Reductions, of 25 cents a month for business and residence' flat rate extensions. Koduclfons of 25 cents a month for extension telephones with a coin box or coin lmx service. These reductions have been ap proved by the public service com mission and havo been brought nhout after many conferences with telephone officials.
