The body of Ashland Collins, be lieved to have been engaged in a guti battle with prohibition offic ers yesterday, was found today near ihe scene of the shooting, lie had boon shot 12 times. Tiie fight, which occurred in a remote section. 20 miles from here resulted in the serious wounding of Stephen K. Cornell, deputy sher iff and candidate for tho office of sheriff. .According to reports reaching here today, 2fl shots were fired by Cornett. Collins and V. A. Creech, federal prohibition agent. whn was with Cornett. Collins was reported to have re sisted search and to have shot duwn Cornett, who fired from tlte ground until struck a second time. ' The Campflre Girls of Talent had their regular ceremonial at tho home of Dorothy Crawforl. October 24. The beautiful cradle ceremonial was given and two new members added to the group. The guardian, Mrs. Mae Lows, presented 81 honors to tho girls for work done in Campfire during tho last six weeks. After the cere monial, Mrs. Crawford served dain ty refreshments to the girls nnd their guardian. The Campfire Girls gave a very successful coHtumo Hallowe'en par ty nt the Community hall on Wed nesday evening. The hall was dec orated artistically with autumn leaves, pumpkins and cornstalks. , TJiem were 44 present, inelud Ingihn girls and their gnrsts. The mothers of the girls nnd the teach ers were special guests of the girls and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Delicious refreshments were served nt the close of the party.
