Merrill, who held the position for the post five years, has been filled by the ap pointment of lCrnest Cooper. Mr. Cooper has for several years been employed on street work of the clly and is thoroughly acquainted with tho work. Miss Htith Yodr-r of the South ern Oregon normal school faculty has been granted a leave of nb sence and will go soon to Uis An geles, where she will study. Miss Yoder is an accomplished violinist land will be missed from the music interests of the town as well as at the normal school. Preparations for. the Camp Fire I Girls' camp at the Lake of the Woods are practically complete. The girls will go into the camp va cated by the Y. M. C. A. boys. There will be some twenty regis trations for each camp. Miss ICUen Waters will arrive from Seattle on Saturday to supervise the last ar rangements. Miss Kosina Gallatin will take over the conduct of the kitchen and to this work she brings special training, having been a graduate this spring from the home economics course at the Oregon State college. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Atkins have returned from their trip to Port land, where they took their daugh ter, Hose, to place her tinder the instruction of a master specialist. Mr. and Mrs. G.
