very jolly afternoon was spent
playing games. The hostess ser
ved sandwiches, angel birthday
cuke and Bavarian cream.
Those enjoying the affair were
the Misses Avis Avers, Ethelyn
Scott, Naomi Johnson. Frances Fu
ller, and Oeneva Brown, t lie honor
guest.
The Young People's conference

sorry to hear of Will Scott pass
ing away last Thursday in Los An
geles. Mr. Scott Is a son of Mrs.
Elizabeth Scott and a brother of
Mas. J. II. Hamrick, Mrs. (i. C. Dun
can and E. E. Scott of Central
Point. Mr. Scott lived in this vici
nity several years where he has
many friends, who extend sympa
thies to the bereaved families.
Mrs. Howard Mayt'leld returned
home Sunday from Portland where
she has been for some time to be
near Mr. Mayfield who underwent
an. operation lor appendicitis. Mr.
.Mayiield is recovering nicely.
Miss Nell Carter visited friends
In Ashland Wednesday.

The O. E. S. held their last meet
ing of the season Tuesday evening
in the Masonic hall. Three candi
' dates were initiated into the order.
The hall was beautifully decorated.
After the business was disposed of
an enjoyable evening was spent
and delicious refreshments served
by the ladies.

nah home at Trail Sunday. Mr.
Hannah who was seriously Injured
a few months ago Is slowly Improv
ing. He had Just returned front s
visit to his Bister's, Mrs. Dailey, at

been taken for a few days.
