It has just been announced by P.
O. Crawford, vice-president and
general manHger of the California
Oregon Power company, that an
other reduction In electric rutes in
southern Oregon will become ef- j
fective as of Moy 15, 1929. . i
This latest rno revision will ben
efit users of small motors under ,
the power rate. v l-arge users un- j
der the, commercial cooking and j
heating rdte will also- obtain serv-J
vice at a lower cost than heretofore.-
N i
: The above class of customers did
not benefit by the reduction on
October 1st, which -was confined
to domestic and commercial light
ing customers. Under the new
power schedule tho first block has
been reduced from 8 to 6 cents per
kilowatt hour and In the case of
the heating and cooking rate large
users will be charged for a cer
tain number of kilowatt hours at
1 cent instead of 1 & cents as for
merly. Judging from tho number of cus
tomers affected and their average
use at the present time, it Is esti
mated that they will save, under
the new rates.'about $12,20Q n year.
These new rates have been ap
proved by the public service com
mission of Oregon and will be
come effective May 1". 1!)29.
The camels are coming! i
So are tho big and little ele
phants, lions, monkeys and nil the
other -animals with Al. G. Barnes'
big circus, day after tomorrow. t
All the kiddies will want to at- i
tend. , What's the use to buy, a
ticket when any child, 16 years ,
nnd under, can set a ticket to
three shows main circus, side ,
show and wild west show free for
a new subscriber to the Mall Tri
bune for two months at $1.50.
The tickets given away will cost
each child $1.25 If they buy them
Thursday.
A number of "young rustlers."
both boys and girls, in Medford
and from the country districts and
surrounding towns, have secured
tickets free.
It's up to every child to seo the
circus for just a little effort.
Get busy tomorrow or Thursday
morning. Tickets will be issued
up to noon' the day of the circus.
