of such work yet ahead, is being

Kred Scheffel in charge, of local
labor. Immediately that work is
finished, it Is tho plan of tho city
administration to have Mr. Schef
fel also construct the airport run
way and drain it, wih local labor.
- This field work already accom
plished on the airport has been
done with the city not spending a
nickel of money for outside help.
Also, when the rough field work
is completed, the city officials will
go no further without seeking ex
pert airport engineering or aero
nautical advice on the laying out
of the first unit in the way of lo
cation of buildings, runways and
the like, with a view to future ex
pansion . by ' establishing other
units from year -to year as they
are needed.
The city officials spent hours in
discussion of the new airport prob
lem at last night's city council
meeting, and it was finally decided
that Mayor Pipes would within the

cooperative capacity with the
council's airport committee, and
also appoint a new member on

It would bo bent to employ an ex

aTwu whether tho airport field
should ho c-lrcular in form, which
form, would save considerable
money in tho way of building,

The city officials also lust night
