Chapman was nomi nated for the office of president of the BuBinenH and Professional Women's club at the regular April meeting held at Hotel Medford last night. For the office of vice president, M rs. AV. W. Howard and Mrs. Suzanne Holmes Carter were nominated; for treasurer, Jacque Jjennox; for recording sec retary, Margaret Morrison; for (-or responding secretary, Miss Dee Scheffel and Mrs. Grace Vos; for auditor, Mips Jane McQuatj and for directors, Claribelle Elliott, ' Mildred Knight and Jane McQuat. Election of officers will take place at the next meeting. "Springtime" was the theme upon which the- three principal speak ers of the evening built their in terring talks. They were Miss L.eona Marsters, supervisor of mu sic at the Southern Oregon Nor mal, who spoke on spring music; Mrs. Ethel Willits, who spoke on Bird" and Mrs. L. 13. Williams on "Flowers." Miss Marsters began by leading ' community singing, interpreting the spirit and characteristics of the numbers as they were being sung. She then selected composi tions typical of different nation alities, which she played on the orthophonlc, culling attention to the melodies, - rhythms wliMi dis tinguished them from othcW-;. Mrs. Willits, who has made an extensive study uf birds, gave some Interesting facts concerning the migration of well-known b i r d i.
