that to be successful the trans
planting of native plants, shrubs or

summer, or later, when growth is
dormant, or nearly so. They should
not bo pulled, but dug with the
roots and some soil and. .protected
from drying out while in transit.
Hoots should he wrapped in pa
per or -burlap, or boxed and moist
ened, while the tops and foliage
should 1)0 protoclod by paper or
canvas from the drying out effect
of the wind nn the foliage.
