Ho was suffcr'ng from blood poison. Dr. Green performed - tho operation nnd Dr. Stearns administered tho ancstho lid. His brother. Daniel Uiles and his wife were with him at the time. Ho was in tho operating room two -hours, from 9 to 1 1 o'clock. - Mrs. ntles stayed with him till he recovered conscious ness about ono o'elock. Ho re turned to his home the following Friday evening. : . The operation ..was the climax of weeks of suffering, caused by having his finger Injured on a barbwire white working at the dredge. It was the mlddlo finger of his right hand nnd was re I moved below tho lower knuckle. Mr. Biles was hurt on the 21st of December. The next day his finger began to swell painfully.
