Mr. Strauss was born 111 Buena Yistu County Iowa, on March lit, littlo lived there until he wus ten, then came with the rest of tho family to Sams Valley where he has since resided, on their 240 acrc ranch. lie Is therefore only 23 years of age a tender ago to tako up the responsibilities of null Important leadership but Mr. Strauss is a living example of the fuct that a wise head often rests upon young shoulders, and bis many friends predict a bril liant career for him. Mr. Strauss became a chapter member of the Sams Valley grango In his 'teens' when It was organi zed In 1124. and has now held tho master's chair In that organiza tion for four consecutive years. I'ndcr his direction this chapter has steadily grown, until It la now one of tho most active grang es in Southern Oregon. Before his elevation to tho post of Pomona Master. Mr. Strauss, hehl the position of Steward of the county grange and is also a member of tho State Grange, hav ing taken his degree three years ago at Baker. Oregon. On November 6th of this year, the Pomona master, married Don na McDonough of Sama Valley, and Mr. and Mrs. Strauss, have established a home on the family ranch, Willi grango activities as one of their most Important, mu tual Interests.
