The evening was de voted to interesting names and guessing contests. Kach guest was obliged to contribute a stunt for the entertainment program, before receiving her nift from ihe bril liantly lighted Christmas tree that graced the living room. The services were held in the Metho dist church and were In charge of the pastor, Heverend J Toll Ik. Teachers In the Washington school had a jolly Christmas party on Monday evening at the home or Mrs. I.crtha Denton on North Main street. Previous to the party the company enjoyed a sumptuous dinner served at the Lfthla Springs Hotel at seven o'clock. Christmas suggestions made the table very attractive. There were miniature Christmas trees at each nlace and cluster of brilliant polasettas us a center piece. After the dinner the company adjourned to Mrs. Denton's home w here thq. evening was sikM in games and in an ex-; change of gifts. Santa appeared with a pack that caused a lot of jollity. Mr. and Mrs. Lew Hansen are still in Portland unable to return to Ashland yet on account of the serious illness of Mrs. Hansen. Hoth have been sick but Mr. Han sen is able to be around some. Mrs. J.
