If the present plan, outlined hy the property owners at. their meeting last night goes into effect, i .according to Carl Tengwald, who acted as secretary of the meeting. This was the second conference of -the property owners and business men of Sixth street in the past weuk. Jack Thompson, of the Cali fornia Oregon power company presented figures and drawing of lighting standards. Those present voted to adopt a 15-foot standard, mirmounted with a single globe, -this system of lighting to extend along Sixth street from Riverside io Oakdale. Tho plan provides that the property owners will pay for the installation of the equip ment if the city will take over the cost of maintenance nnd fdr nlsh tho electrical energy for the lights. The cost of Installation will be assessed according to the front- age each owner has on Sixth street. Within 12 days three violent ges tures have been made against him, the third one last night. Twelve days ago a bomb exploded at the rear of his plant. "Wednesday night the bombers went around to the front door and tossed another. These bombs resulted in several thousand dollars damage, not onlv J to the plant but to buildings in the neighborhood. Last night the enemy became personal. Three armed men drove up to the ice cream factory, in front of which Ciancance was seat-' ed with two friends. The visitors opened fire, but Giancance and one of his companions, Russell Russo, put so much distance between themselves and their attackers that they escaped uninjurixt.
